Meet a Keypather: Daniel Baresic
As the Global Vice President of Marketing, Daniel bridges the connection between marketing and the rest of the organization to ensure Keypath’s business goals are aligned. He is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, communicative team and strives to make data-driven decisions while continuously finding new optimizations and efficiencies.
What excites you about working for Keypath?
It’s cliché to say, but what excites me about working for Keypath are the people that work here. Our core leadership team has a great deal of online program management (OPM) experience with some of the largest players in the space. Organizationally, Keypath benefits from operating like an incubator culturally, while having the financial backing to sustainably grow as quickly as we can – having the best of both worlds is a great feeling.
Where do you see your specialty going in the next five years?
You can’t get stuck on any one strategy, source, or process if you want to succeed as a marketer, regardless of what industry you are in. I don’t even say “digital marketer” anymore, since digital is so engrained into any marketer’s palette, I no longer distinguish the two as separate. Working in the online higher education space also means things evolve dramatically year-over-year, as more schools and markets around the world realize the benefits of offering the online modality. I do see the market demanding more options and customization. I think marketers will be the driving force to encourage institutions and their partners to explore new offerings and go beyond traditional degree structures.
How can you use your skills to change the student experience for the better?
Helping universities be explicit about what a program is, who it’s for, and what students can expect to get out of it, so the student experience is better. It’s quality over quantity.
What motivates you?
Personally, the family and life that my wife and I created with our two beautiful children.
Professionally, this quote from Henry Ford helps motivate and guide me: “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.”
